Murakami is known for his contemporary Japanese style of art in paintings and media. He likes to take popular themes from the media and use them in 30-foot sculptures. This style is a phrase he coined 'Superflat.'
Murakami's 'Superflat' is usually a mixture of color and graphic images (nude men and women doing provocative things) including anime style characters. Murakami also sells many of his pieces in the form of mouse pads, dolls, and even a limited edition $5,000 Louis Vuitton bag.
