Gina Walker: Tim Hawkinson

Some of the materials used for this were: bubble wrap, yarn, beans, seeds, and candy.

This two inch tall figure was created using the artist's finger nail pairings.
Tim Hawkinson lives and works in Los Angeles, California. His work is primarily sculptural. He is best known for creating intricate sculptural systems through basic means. A source of inspiration for Hawkinson has been the re-imagining of his own body. Hawkinson re-invents the concept of self-portraits and conveys the body in fantastical ways. Hawkinson's work reveals his attention to detail as well as his fascination with life, death, music, notation and time.
